Purity

April 13, 2020 (Bible Devotional)

The Bible suggests that we are partakers in the sins that we condone. We enable others to sin, God keeps us accountable. As those who desire to inhabit the realm of the blessed, we must can other to a higher standard. We do not know that the future holds. We cannot judge others prematurely. This is why the Bible invites to inspect others base on their character, not on their profession. This practice will allow us to understand each other and correctly encourage one another as we journey heavenward.

We should never rush when making a decision that impacts the people of God. While God demands that we are decisive, we should only move forward with approval. The Bible invites us to first prove ourselves. And to also prove others. This simple step will keep the church of God accountable. As we study ourselves, and as we get to know each other, we can better strengthen one another. Premature decisions can lead to unforeseen disasters among believers.

Purity and simply are precious jewels. As heirs of an undefiled kingdom, we must become pure in thoughts and actions. This is possible by the mighty power of God. Every Christian has to cultivate a pure and noble character. We need to allow Christ to work out his perfect will in our lives. Simplicity with godliness is great gain. There is no need to boast in our feeble efforts, we must simply trust in God at all times. First, we must believe that Christ can make us pure. Then we must give him the time to work in our lives.

Purity starts with a clean conscience. All who desire to live holy life must learn what it means to develop a pure conscience. The first step in this journey is to believe in Christ and his atoning grace. We must believe that his blood washed us from all our filth. When we ask for forgiveness, Christ cleanses us. He justified. Once we are declared just. There is no need for remorse, guilt, and shame. We can then live without regrets with a pure conscience because Christ has declared us pardoned.

Do you believe that Jesus can me you pure?
