The Final Key To Unlocking Discipline

The final piece to the puzzle is your why, purpose, or passion.

Why do you get up in the morning? Why do you keep going even when so many things go wrong? Why do you not quit?

I remember there was a time in my life where I felt like I was falling apart and didn’t know what I was going to do with my life. I went from trying anything from forex, eCommerce, to even photography.

I just kept going and going until I found my true calling, writing! After I read books like Think & Grow Rich and How to Win Friends and Influence People, my life changed. That was the time that I truly realized that writing is powerful.

I hated writing but I made a promise to myself that in 4 years I would make my parents retire.

So every day I would write anything from Ad copy to pages of a book. I would give myself a certain number of pages or words and I would hit that goal every day.

Even on my worst days where I would weight lift in the morning and go to judo, and my body was exhausted I would still write.

Because I know there is power in words. Words made Martin Luther King Jr. into a civil writes leader and words made into the person I am today. My words can maybe change enough lives that I will be able to provide my family with whatever they want.

You need to have a why so strong that when life kicks you in the teeth, you don’t just sit there and stay down. You get back up and throw some blows back.

If that’s not enough then think about your brain health. People that feel they have a purpose in life have a much healthier brain. They also are likely to get depression and dementia.

I like to think of life as a boxing match. You may get hit a couple of times but you won't just stand there. You would hit back and show life that you aren’t weak. I’ll leave you with this final quote:

“Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it” ― Gautama Buddha

So find your reason to live and sew it into your dreams.
