JavaScript Runtime: The programming language of Flowchain

JavaScript is one of the most famous programming languages, and it is the pioneer in the “GitHub Popular Programming Languages” list, which is the reason Flowchain utilizes it as the essential language of Flowchain. The main purpose of using JavaScript is that the language not only runs on different hardware, but the entry barrier is low, allowing developers in IoT industries to customize their services and products easily, and then generate more computing tasks on the platform to attract Miners stationed to accelerate the growth of the Flowchain ecosystem.

Web of Things Layer: How to connect between Edge Devices

“Web of Things, WoT” is considered as the application layer of IoT in Web technology. Web of Things(WoT) is the concept of speaking to every gadget in the “Uniform Resource Locator(URL)” over the Internet of Things(IoT) network. W3C’s WoT standard is executed to deal with the resources in the decentralized IoT network. Just like the HTTP and Web conventions, the basic IoT resources can be effectively stored and read. Flowchain is the only IoT blockchain project to employ WoT's idea in IoT firms.

Broker Server Layer: Conversion between public and private blockchains

Flowchain utilizes hybrid blockchain architecture which comprises a public blockchain utilizing Proof-of-stake as consensus and multiple private blockchains utilizing BFT. The main reason behind using hybrid blockchain is to utilize the basic and important benefits of public and private blockchains. Basically, hybrid blockchain combines the privacy benefit of a permissioned and private blockchain with the security and transparency benefits of a public blockchain. This gives business significant flexibility to choose what data should be public and transparent, and what data should be private. IoT developers can use the Flowchain SDK and the private blockchains of the IoT device equipped with Flowchain tokenized chips to provide collected information to the “miners” for calculation. Flowchain introduced a new concept called PPKI i.e., Pseudonymous Public Key Infrastructure. This PPKI mechanism is used for the communication between miners and the IoT device and tokenized chips are used to validate transactions of the information.

Distributed Ledger Layer: API/SDK for developers

Decentralized applications(Dapps) are computer programs that consist of smart contracts. Flowchain uses JavaScript to build Dapps. The reason for using JavaScript is that, it can be applied to different hardware which makes it easy for IoT developers to customize their services and products.
