About Me

I come from a family of immigrants. My father was born in Cambodia, my mother was born in China, and I was born in Viet Nam. Growing up in a third world country, my family was fortunate enough to be given the chance of moving to the U.S. to have a chance at the American Dream. After I became a naturalized citizen, I often look back at all the sacrifices my parents have made in order to give me a better life. It is all thanks to them that I am now able to pursue my dreams.

Ever since I was a little boy, I was different from others. Instead of going out to play and do “boy stuff” I was engrossed in my own little world of creativity. Inspired by the many cartoons and animations that I watched a child, I would eventually pick up drawing and before I knew it, I was obsessed. Throughout grade school, the most exciting about school work was the designing process of it. Over time, I realized that the right step for me to take was to pursue art as a career and that is exactly why I am majoring in graphic design as San Jose State University.

As to why I am taking a media writing course. I feel like that in this age of technology and social media, it is crucial for me to learn the in and outs of the importance of new media in today’s society.
